    Job Summary

    To assist the Director with administrative responsibilities, staff oversight, office management, day-to-day operations and manage programs, events, and projects at Cherished High Desert.

    Responsibilities and Duties

  • Staff oversight – coordinate schedules and provide support to drivers and residential staff
  • Office management – manage all legal requirements for the 501(c)(3), work with bookkeeper to meet all financial responsibilities, perform HR duties, responsible for all phone and email communication, oversee volunteers and interns

  • Admin responsibilities - paying bills, maintaining multiple calendars for director and residents, preparing quarterly reports for board meetings
  • Studio oversight – order supplies, manage inventory levels, track POs and Invoices, oversee survivor-artisan employees in meeting orders
  • Event facilitation – coordinate events and speaking engagements including annual gala, fundraisers, and volunteer trainings
  • Donor relations and promotions – oversee social media, email, mail, and telephone campaigns to promote social enterprise and donations

    Job Summary

    Assist Director in overseeing safety and atmosphere of the Cherished homes. Develop supportive relationships with each resident and foster group unity. This is a live-in position which keeps a pulse on the activities of the homes.

    Responsibilities and Duties

  • Resident oversight – provide staff oversight for the Cherished home during the evenings, lead house meetings, oversee residents taking medications, help provide structure for residents, deescalate emotional situations, perform chore and room checks, immediately alert manager of critical situations
  • On-call responsibilities – address any urgent situations arising overnight while living in the Cherished home
  • Household skills training – identify needs of individual residents and help them (as needed) with meal planning and preparation, teaching cleaning and laundry skills, organization, etc.

  • Ability to maintain interpersonal relationships with victims of PTSD
  • Strong communication skills with a diverse range of people including the proper handling of emotional situations

  • Drivers:

  • Cherished drivers perform a critical role in the functioning of the residential program. Not only do they transport residents to important program activities, they also become an important person for individual residents as well as the whole group.

  • Driver Responsibilities and Duties

    Essential Job Functions

  • Drive residents to weekly activities and appointments (using the Cherished vehicle)
  • Accompany residents on weekly grocery shopping trips and other outings
  • Ensure that residents are kept safe and following Cherished standards
  • Oversee residents taking medication
  • Deescalating emotional situations in accordance with Cherished training
  • May be a first point of contact in responding to urgent resident needs during certain days or times
